Sam Broadcaster

This guide explains how to broadcast music from SAM Broadcaster v4. You must be running a PC with SAM installed (other operating systems should use different software). This was written for SAM4 but I'm sure it will be similar in SAM3.

Here is 3 easy steps to get you streaming right away.

1) Install SAM4
2) Create Encoder
3) Connect To Your Shoutcast Stream

STEP 1 - Install SAM4
-------------------------

If you have SAM Broadcaster installed, skip this step.

Install SAM4 from your purchased media You can buy it from.

Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software, and restart your computer if necessary.

STEP 2 - Create Encoder

Open SAM Broadcaster. Your current SAM desktop should contain the "Encoders" subwindow. If it doesn't, click on the top buttons labelled "Desktop B"

Click the plus ("+") icon in the Encoders subwindow toolbar. A new dialog will popup asking you to select a plugin. Choose "MP3 Normal  and click "OK". If you later have problems with this codec use "mp3PRO" with a lower bitrate instead.

Another dialog will display - this is where you configure your MP3 stream to broadcast . Under the "Converter tab. Choose Format 128kbs or 96kbs 44100 Hz,  Stereo in the Attributes field. Click "OK".

Click the "Server Details" tab. Choose "ShoutCast" from the top list, then enter your details

IP" (host), "Server Port" and "Password".

You're now ready to start streaming!

STEP 3 - Connect To Your Shoutcast Stream
---------------------------------------------------

To connect to your Shoutcast stream before broadcasting, highlight the encoder we created (in the Encoders subwindow on your SAM desktop) and click the "Play" icon. The Status and Description fields should change to indicate you are connected.
